NATURE/ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

At Daisy Academy we help children to develop a loving relationship with the Earth. 

Daisy Academy engages children in many nature  projects that develop an appreciation for the trees, plants, flowers, animals  and other fascinating things in our natural world.

We believe that the more personal children's experience with nature, the more environmentally concerned and active children are likely to become.

FRENCH CLASSES

French is an integral part of our program. French lessons are given once a week during circle time. Our native French speaking teacher also assists children in building their French language skills every day during the work cycles.

MUSIC CLASSES

Music plays an important role in the preschool curriculum. Children learn songs, rhythm, chants, musical notation and dances. While children engage in music and movement activities on a daily basis, once a week we offer structured music lessons when children are introduced to musical notes and learn how to play a musical instrument - a recorder.




PHYSICAL EDUCATION/FITNESS CLASSES


Children need physical activities to maintain healthy hearts, lungs, and muscles.
At Daisy Academy we introduce children to variety of movement activities to help them develop the habit of a healthy lifestyle.
Our professional fitness instructor encourages exercise in children engaging them in a fun fitness class. The classes focus on developing large motor skills, coordination, agility, balance, strength, cardio, reactivity, quickness and more.
It has been shown that exercise help children improve bone mass, build strong heart and healthy self-esteem, help them to sleep better, decrease stress and anxiety and give them opportunity to "use up all that energy".
There is also evidence that physical activity actually helps children perform better academically and in some cases, improve behavior and attention.

CHILD ART CLASSES:

Art - rich life is very important to young children, especially today when children are influenced by high-tech graphics and special effects on television and computers. Children are often confused and uncertain about the value and acceptance of their own personal imagination and creativity.

 

At Daisy Academy we provide children with opportunities to express themselves through various art activities. We believe that child art has the power to improve academic performance.
It leads to good work habits because painting and drawing involve concentration and cultivate self-discipline.
Child art involves creative discovery and self-expression by learning how to address problems in innovative ways.

Child Art also helps adults to learn more about the children, how they develop intellectually and emotionally.
